Slum communities are a byproduct of global urbanization, which is still happening despite the fact that the majority of the world’s population now resides in metropolitan areas. These areas are home to a sizable proportion of economically vulnerable employees. Unsafe housing, a dearth of essential services, and unregulated commerce are the hallmarks of these areas. Workers in poor communities perform a wide range of risky, unregulated tasks. In addition, they face exploitation in the workplace, low pay, and few legal rights. National governments and international organizations have responded to these problems by passing protective legislation to protect the rights of these workers and to improve their working conditions. The paper deals about protective laws for slum area workers.
