RIGHT TO INFORMATION ACT AND EMPOWERMENT OF WOMEN IN INDIA

This research intends to investigate how the Right to Information Act (RTI) in India contributes to the empowerment of women in that country. Since its passage in 2005, the Right to Information Act has developed into a potent instrument that can significantly improve governance in terms of transparency, accountability, and citizen participation. This study looks into the ways in which women, particularly those from underserved communities, have utilised RTI resources to improve their socioeconomic and political empowerment. In addition to this, it investigates the obstacles and possibilities that women confront when utilising the RTI, as well as the overall influence that this utilisation has on women’s participation in decision-making processes at all levels of government.
