This study investigates the mediating role of job satisfaction in the relationship between work motivation and organisational citizenship behaviour (OCB) among university teachers. Within the rapidly changing higher education environment, faculty members are expected not only to fulfil formal academic duties but also to engage in voluntary, extra-role behaviours that enhance institutional effectiveness. Drawing upon Self-Determination Theory and Social Exchange Theory, the study conceptualises work motivation as a multidimensional construct encompassing intrinsic and extrinsic motivators that influence teachers’ attitudes and performance. The research discusses strategic insights for educational leaders and policymakers on how to enhance teacher satisfaction and engagement through motivational practices, fair evaluation systems, and supportive institutional climates. The study highlights that fostering a culture of satisfaction and intrinsic fulfilment can transform academic environments into spaces of cooperation, innovation, and shared commitment to institutional excellence.
